Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Sunday 10th May 2020, I would like to provide an update regarding how Venture Dogs’ is continuing to support you and your dogs.
Our priority is and will continue to be keeping our clients safe, whilst providing professional and empathetic support.
We have had wonderful success with remote (online) sessions, running both one-on-one coaching and behaviour consultations via video-link. These sessions provide the same support, guidance, and training that one would get from an in-person session, but without any risk to you or your family. We provide a well-rounded learning experience by explaining skills and concepts verbally, demonstrating training and skills with our own dog, and providing instant, live, individualised feedback to you and your dog as you put that learning into practice from the comfort of your own home.
We are also able to offer a discounted rate on remote services due to slightly lower overheads, which is our way of thanking you for supporting us as a small, local business in these strange times. However, whilst government guidelines continue to change over the coming weeks and months, we understand that some clients will begin to look at in-person training sessions.
Currently, social distancing requires us to remain at least 2 metres away at all times. This means we can’t touch your dog, their lead, or demonstrate any skills with them in a hands-on manner. For this reason, we are not resuming in-person training at this time. We feel that the risk of spreading COVID-19, alongside the limitations created by necessary safety procedures (social distancing, handwashing, face covering, etc), greatly outweigh the minimal benefits that may be gained through in-person sessions.
No in-person sessions will be conducted until the following criteria have been met:
(please note that this is subject to change, as safety is our main priority)
Stay at home guidelines are lifted: the general public can meet freely with others outside their own household
Non-essential businesses are re-opened to the public
We are incredibly lucky to be able to work from home in this way, and feel that this is a fantastic opportunity to provide you with more flexibility and choice in how you train your dog. We hope that you continue to support us with this as we learn and grow over the coming months.
Stay safe, and best wishes,
